Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp
back to the tours overview
The Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp, established in 1936, was the model concentration camp, where a training center educated SS officers before they were sent to camps throughout Europe. Due to its close proximity to Berlin, the camp was used for the internment of prominent political opponents, Jews, as well as Soviet POW´s. Our tour of Sachsenhausen systematically covers its history and significance in the broader scheme of Nazi terror. Its goal is also to evoke the everyday experience of prisoners.
